Set up the bot for your server
When the bot joins a server it posts a short welcome in a channel it can send in, covering the three things worth doing first: choosing a prefix, looking through the settings, and deciding on the “did you mean…?” nudge. It only posts this once, and you can bring the same guide back any time with !setup. If the bot ever seems unresponsive, !setup check tests its permissions in the current channel.
Everything the bot does per server lives in one panel. Anyone can look at it, and members with Manage Server or Administrator can change it.
The panel groups settings by area and marks anything you’ve changed from the default with ✱. Until you’ve set a prefix, a notification channel, and a command channel, it also shows a short “Setup” reminder with the command for each. Each setting is numbered, so you can refer to it by name or number.
Change a setting
For example:
If you mistype a name, the bot suggests the closest matches.
All settings
Every setting also has a shortcut command: !prefix, !dym, !ar, !flat, and !nt. They edit the same values.
Common setups
Keep bot chatter tidy
No gambling
Cap the stakes
Reward chatters
Another bot uses the same prefix
Send all commands to one channel so the rest of your server stays quiet.
Undo it with !settings channel none.
Change the prefix
The first form shows your current prefix. The second sets it, up to 5 characters. It takes effect straight away, and the bot keeps answering to @FluxerList mentions whatever you choose.
FLAT tracking
FLAT is on by default and powers your server’s activity score. Check it with !flat, and turn it off with !flat off. Read FLAT activity score for what’s counted and how privacy works.
Permissions the bot needs
In any channel where you want it to answer, the bot needs:
- Send Messages
- Embed Links
- Read Message History
If it’s missing one, it posts a short message listing what to grant. Two optional extras improve things:
- Manage Webhooks lets notifications post with FluxerList branding.
- Create Invite lets
!listgenerate a permanent invite for you instead of asking you to paste one.
