What counts and how it moves

The signals behind a FLAT score, and how it rises and fades.

FLAT is built from seven signals. This page covers what each one is worth and how the score changes over time. For turning FLAT on and the tier thresholds, see the FLAT overview.

What counts

Seven signals feed the score. Each has a weight and a per-hour cap, so flooding a channel can’t produce an outsized score.

How the score moves

  • It updates hourly. Each server’s page shows when it was last updated.
  • Time decay. Recent activity counts for more than old activity. A busy weekend fades over the following days, so the score reflects the current state of the community.
  • Spikes fade. An artificial spike disappears within 24 to 48 hours without real activity behind it.

If your score is lower than you expected, look at the last few days rather than the last few weeks. Steady activity beats a single burst.
